Miss my Texas BBQ....Part 4

Smitty's smoke BBQ, Lockhart

The best ever Texas BBQ we have tasted, no doubt --> Smitty's BBQ @ Lockhart.
Smitty's is the 1st BBQ house 100 years ago starting it's business in Lockhart...still standing popularly today while maintaining the olden days BBQ style and its ancient building..

From the outside... an outsider wouldn't have ever guessed that this place actually serves the best Texas BBQ... 100 years old still in its original states, never been renovated before..

Smitty's still using the old style slow-burning logs in the old pits to turn out its ever famous prime ribs, briskets and ring sausages..

Look at the HOT old pits on big fire and heavy smoke...we practically wade through fire and smoke and ashes, coughing ourselves to reach the butchers' order counter....The building wall and ceiling are practically black, darkening the whole place.. making the 100 years old place more mystically mysterious...

Look at the busy butcher chopping on the briskets and slicing the ribs... ohhh..yumm.. luvp it!!!

Look at the queue here... it actually queue up long to way outside the back door!!! We order our food here, and our BBQ is presented on the butcher paper, where we then carry up front to one of the tables in the air conditioned dining room...

This is where we eat our superb BBQ... here we all know to eat with our hands, which makes it more tasty..

This is my Smitty's BBQ... I have the ring sausage, juicy ribs and the moisted briskets...Irresistible!!! Look at the rosy crispy slices of prime ribs from the old smoke pit with outer punchy smoky rims... is worth getting fat for..!!

And the juicy briskets...fully moisted where the pink center is just juicy and tender to bite..the best briskets so far... some high end restaurants briskets are already dry up and hard..this Smitty's brisket is definitely to die for...

The Sausage Ring has long been a specialty of Lockhart barbecues. Smitty's sausage is just simply awesome!! Fat rounded sausage that spilled out its BBQ juices once bite on...its succulence is beyond words...

I miss Smitty's BBQ....

These very old bench-tables against the wall beside the dining hall are no longer in use; but was told in their early days, this is where many tonness of good meat were eaten. It has never changed although it has become part of the history...

Smitty's BBQ still keeps all its originality. A place where you still can find all very old stuffs and where retired groups still patron for good meat and old sweet memories here...

Wash hand, anyone??? =)

100 years old weighing machine still in use...wonder how much this antique is worth??

Smitty's BBQ is definitely a must try and you will fell in love with it!!

Local Lockhart residences must be so proud of it..

Well worthed Number 1!!!!!
