My Best Halloween Nite memories...

That Halloween Friday night, was one of the most memorable experience of a lifetime becoz you won't get this kinda experience back home as Halloween is not as popular or common in Asian countries. People here don't celebrate it.. or not as publicly enjoy Halloween...

I didn't know that Halloween can be that exciting!!!!!

Before going to 6th street to celebrate Halloween, this is our dinner at BJ's =)

Full size BJ's famous Pizza.......

And a few glass of special BJ's beer ;) hehe... btw, BJ's beer is a must try ok!!

So we drive to downtown Austin where Halloween celebration will be in 6th street, the central of downtown, the oldest street of Austin...

The 6th street begins from the Driskill Hotel, Austin oldest hotel in history....

This is 100 years old Driskill Hotel...it just looks like back into the 50s where you still see horse ride everywhere...it just added the chilly to Halloween atmosphere...

As we are walking into 6th street..out of nowhere...I was shocked when i see this.. unexpectedly...

Speechless...he looked so real, so eerie, so frightening...somemore with scowling sound from him as he walked across the road towards us..I almost screamed...urghhhh...

Suddenly you see a skeleton standing still beside the road, smiling at you.....*goosebumps*

Acting as Jesus shouldering the Cross???!!

Oohh.. Red Riding Hood with the BIG BAD WOLF!!! Is so so real!!!.. the costume is just perfect!! See his long dirty tongue...yucksss!!

Little Pumpkin baby dressing up for Halloween.. so cuteeeee.....! She looks so innocent I was wondering if she knew that it is Halloween that she is celebrating...

No costume yet?? Don't worry... 6th Street is still selling the best Halloween costumes :)

Hey!! It's Obama and McCain and 'baby Palin'????!! Haha...US is a free country where they can make fun of their politicians and have a laugh at their biggest election...not bad.....

Malaysia??! you would need to sacrifice your freedom to ISA if you ever, ever try this...becoz it will make you a very dangerous person so called....ridiculous?? believe it..

Hahahaha.... this is sucha good shoot... and the gal really looks like Palin!!!

urghhhh.....the guy with tattoos in blue velvet bikini??! My stomach isn't feeling good now...

The crowd in 6th Street is unbelievable packed! Everyone is dressed up in one way or another, very creative very entertaining and very FUN!!

As I was happily snapping photos.... this scene walking towards us frightens me out of my skin!!! I was desperately holding my breathe....
This is terribly scary group of costumes looking so damn real!!

Look at the coffin they are carrying and the head covered with blood that he is holding....sending shivers down my spine.... my goodness!!.. I think they really deserve the best of the best Halloween costume!!!

My first time to see all the weird scary real costumes walking all over the street freely and publicly.. woww... *speechless*

Hope I don't get nightmares..

So thinking I have seen enough of Halloween, we walked back to our cars.. before we knew...he is standing right in front of us with his big c***!!!!

OMG........ I can't imagine how embarrassed is that.. one hand holding his gigantic c*** and another puffing ciggie in a public area??!! And ifyou notice... right opposite us is a priest, laughing his head off!!!

I salute to his bravery...

At last I am home... and XiaoBai also wanna celebrate his Halloween too! ;)

Heheheheee.....

Miss my Texas BBQ....Part 4

Smitty's smoke BBQ, Lockhart

The best ever Texas BBQ we have tasted, no doubt --> Smitty's BBQ @ Lockhart.
Smitty's is the 1st BBQ house 100 years ago starting it's business in Lockhart...still standing popularly today while maintaining the olden days BBQ style and its ancient building..

From the outside... an outsider wouldn't have ever guessed that this place actually serves the best Texas BBQ... 100 years old still in its original states, never been renovated before..

Smitty's still using the old style slow-burning logs in the old pits to turn out its ever famous prime ribs, briskets and ring sausages..

Look at the HOT old pits on big fire and heavy smoke...we practically wade through fire and smoke and ashes, coughing ourselves to reach the butchers' order counter....The building wall and ceiling are practically black, darkening the whole place.. making the 100 years old place more mystically mysterious...

Look at the busy butcher chopping on the briskets and slicing the ribs... ohhh..yumm.. luvp it!!!

Look at the queue here... it actually queue up long to way outside the back door!!! We order our food here, and our BBQ is presented on the butcher paper, where we then carry up front to one of the tables in the air conditioned dining room...

This is where we eat our superb BBQ... here we all know to eat with our hands, which makes it more tasty..

This is my Smitty's BBQ... I have the ring sausage, juicy ribs and the moisted briskets...Irresistible!!! Look at the rosy crispy slices of prime ribs from the old smoke pit with outer punchy smoky rims... is worth getting fat for..!!

And the juicy briskets...fully moisted where the pink center is just juicy and tender to bite..the best briskets so far... some high end restaurants briskets are already dry up and hard..this Smitty's brisket is definitely to die for...

The Sausage Ring has long been a specialty of Lockhart barbecues. Smitty's sausage is just simply awesome!! Fat rounded sausage that spilled out its BBQ juices once bite on...its succulence is beyond words...

I miss Smitty's BBQ....

These very old bench-tables against the wall beside the dining hall are no longer in use; but was told in their early days, this is where many tonness of good meat were eaten. It has never changed although it has become part of the history...

Smitty's BBQ still keeps all its originality. A place where you still can find all very old stuffs and where retired groups still patron for good meat and old sweet memories here...

Wash hand, anyone??? =)

100 years old weighing machine still in use...wonder how much this antique is worth??

Smitty's BBQ is definitely a must try and you will fell in love with it!!

Local Lockhart residences must be so proud of it..

Well worthed Number 1!!!!!

Miss my Texas BBQ....Part 3

Yah...you might have heard people saying that the best BBQ is in a small district town called Lockhart, suburb of Texas. All I can tell you is, it's true... =)

That night we were watching the Discovery channel where they introduce the best BBQ in the States, of course.. Texas is always in the top 3, showing one of the most mouth watering Texas style BBQ..

We were introduced to Lockhart, the well known BBQ town in Texas, popular throughout the States! Wow....since we were in Texas, it's a must to drive to Lockhart and have a nice bite on it's BBQ pork and briskets and sausages.... ;)

Lockhart has 3 most popular BBQ restaurants, namely Smitty, Kruger's and Black's...according to Discovery channel, A MUST TRY!!

So...One evening, we drove 1 hour from Austin to Lockhart...

This is the center of the famous BBQ small town..

This is the Lockhart Courthouse of Caldwell County, built in the central of the town back in year 1893... already over 100 years...very typical ancient style building, is like stepping into the past....

Lockhart is a very, very old town, and still remaining every old fashion of life.. felt like still living in the 60's itself! Even the BBQ restaurants are ancient looking with a sense of historic mystery...

Welcome to Black's Barbecue!!!

Nothing extravagant, no decoration; this is how it looks like from the day Black's started business est.1932...

No doubt, this is the typical Texas Cowboy BBQ style, exclusively Texans :)
That moment, I know I have come to the right place..

As you can see, Black's is a family style BBQ business, nothing more than their pure desire to make the best BBQ...it felt like just coming home....

Look at my plate of Blacks BBQ...yumm..

The ribs are big and solidly bulky..once I bite on the ribs, the crispy outer layer is just so tempting combining with the tender meat beneath..!!

The briskets are very moisted and full of BBQ aroma, so so fulfilling...
The handmade pork sausage.. so authentically scrumptious!! one is just not enough...

No BBQ sauce needed (although Blacks have their own bbq sauce)... =)

Black's Barbecue is definitely one of the very best in Texas and the whole United States!

Way to go.....!!!
Keep it going!!!

You have made Lockhart proud!! ;)

Sakura in Malaysia -- Believe it or not?

For the past 3 weeks, I have been traveling from Kulim to Penang almost everyday....usually, it is just an utmost boring and tiring one hour drive..

But since the last 2 weeks, I start noticing something different alongside the BKE highway....

I saw Cherry Blossoms... pink cherry and white flowers blossoming and covering the whole tree!!!! woooww..... I was still suspecting my eyes.....Can it be true???

Since when we can find sucha beautiful scenery in Malaysia??

Split seconds I thought I crosspathed to Japan or am I still in US???!! It felt just like season of autumn is around the corner (but the weather here is much hotter) and the flowers dropping...everywhere....

Even the cow is so touched....see...she is also enjoying the autumn cherry blossom ..

An absolutely gorgeous sight to behold....!!!

This is just so rare in Malaysia...

I always like those four season countries becoz they can have and physically see the cycle of life...where everything changes from Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, rotating...especially obvious in the changes of the flowers....which indeed made life so interesting...

Pure white Sakura... stunningly beautiful!!

Seen in Malaysia, unexpectedly..

and somehow...it resembles --> HOPE & FREEDOM =)

Life on the road has just become increasingly interesting and colourful... am grateful...they have just succesfully added beauty to the busting city and unhealthy boring lifestyle ;)

Who say we must go to Japan to see Sakura?!

Sakura in Malaysia is just as stunning!!

One of very well known Texas pride is --> Texas Road House, the cowboy's place... =)
Is a must for all Texans to try Texas Road House, and got addicted after the 1st try..

Look at the very generous baby pork ribs!!!!! Very big & thick, yet so juicy and tender......not to mention the big sweet potatoe beside, flavoured with bacon bits...plus a bottle of 'Bud Light' ....ooohh...yummm yummm....

It just made our 45mins queue up waiting for our seats while crunching the peanuts, just so worth it...
