That night we were watching the Discovery channel where they introduce the best BBQ in the States, of course.. Texas is always in the top 3, showing one of the most mouth watering Texas style BBQ..
We were introduced to Lockhart, the well known BBQ town in Texas, popular throughout the States! Wow....since we were in Texas, it's a must to drive to Lockhart and have a nice bite on it's BBQ pork and briskets and sausages.... ;)
Lockhart has 3 most popular BBQ restaurants, namely Smitty, Kruger's and Black's...according to Discovery channel, A MUST TRY!!
So...One evening, we drove 1 hour from Austin to Lockhart...
This is the center of the famous BBQ small town..
This is the Lockhart Courthouse of Caldwell County, built in the central of the town back in year 1893... already over 100 years...very typical ancient style building, is like stepping into the past....
Lockhart is a very, very old town, and still remaining every old fashion of life.. felt like still living in the 60's itself! Even the BBQ restaurants are ancient looking with a sense of historic mystery...
Welcome to Black's Barbecue!!!
Nothing extravagant, no decoration; this is how it looks like from the day Black's started business est.1932...
No doubt, this is the typical Texas Cowboy BBQ style, exclusively Texans :)
That moment, I know I have come to the right place..
As you can see, Black's is a family style BBQ business, nothing more than their pure desire to make the best BBQ...it felt like just coming home....
Look at my plate of Blacks BBQ...yumm..
The ribs are big and solidly bulky..once I bite on the ribs, the crispy outer layer is just so tempting combining with the tender meat beneath..!!
The briskets are very moisted and full of BBQ aroma, so so fulfilling...
The handmade pork sausage.. so authentically scrumptious!! one is just not enough...
No BBQ sauce needed (although Blacks have their own bbq sauce)... =)
Black's Barbecue is definitely one of the very best in Texas and the whole United States!
Way to go.....!!!
Keep it going!!!
You have made Lockhart proud!! ;)
