Pasar Buka Puasa @ Jalan Satok Kuching.

That day I am back home in Kuching, we went to see the Jalan Satok, Pasar Buka Puasa...

I find it very interesting and different from the Buka Puasa stuff in Penisular, and somehow, I like the Kuching Buka Puasa stuff better...

There are alot of different variety to choose from, those you can't find it in Penisular =)

And you will get hooked when you try out the food... =)

This is very popular local Sarawak Kek Lapis, very nice Sarawak specialty dessert, must try..!

Maybe the younger age of us dunno what is "Putu Mayong", but I can guarantee you, once you taste it, you will love it :)

This is very common food during my grandma and my mum's generation, and very cheap...but nowadays, you rarely find people selling "Putu Mayung" anymore. So if you get to see this precious old stuff, give it a try, you will like it..

'Ikan Panggang!!!! Mari! Mari! Ada telur dalam....!!'

The whole lorong is full of BBQ smoke and panggang fish aroma...

Try some fish? It looks very meaty and smells delicious....

These are some traditional Malay kuih and pulut, very cheap too... try some ;)

Ohhhh~~~~ Ayam Panggang Madu.... no wonder there is a sense of BBQ honey aroma floating around...
Even my mum got hooked and bought two birds home for dinner later..yumyumm... =)

They call this 'Ikan Sikap' where they 'panggang' it until 100% yellowish crispy and red spicy too, very local Sarawak style, worth trying..

The intestines of chicken on the sticks BBQed. Very temptingly tasty if you dare to try...

See the Abang so diligently painting honey onto the Ayam Madu Panggang... Kudos to his efforts =)

Look at the pasar...very super smoky, full of BBQ flavors... really respect those that have yet can buka puasa, that they can stand all the delicious food around them without getting a bite of them!

This is very special from Sarawak...we have Sarawak style Chicken+Crab package with yellow rice.

Looks super appealing to me...

Or you like the Combo set of Crab+ big Shrimp package with yellow rice? Looks alluring too!

And fresh steam fish!!! Very beautifully decorated, and very fresh =)

Ohhhh... I love these colorful drinks personally...a lot.... so beautiful, so colourful, so refreshing, so tempting!! Especially to Muslims where they would want to quench their thirst the first moment they buka puasa...

They have fruits inside, corns, agar-agar, jelly, barley, rose, coconut, soya beans, red beans etc......

Thumbs-up!!!!

Look at all these different variety of kuih muih!!! Feel like taking a bite!!

This is the Malay style economy rice... smells very nice, should be good...

Look at this very spicy fish, marinated with all the traditional spices and steamed to the right minutes.... the fresh and spicy aroma lures me over to buy one...

Of course.... Satay!!!!
How can a Pasar Buka Puasa be a Pasar Buka Puasa without having satay??! So tempted to buy a dozen!!!!

Kuching style buka puasa can be very fun and interesting, experience it =)
